A new update has started rolling out for HTC U11 units in the US. Weighing in at 737MB, the software upgrade should bump the version of the 2017 flagship to 2.42.617.1. Usually, updates of this size bring along substantial features, but in this case, the changelog is suspiciously small.

As you can see, the only two changes mentioned are the inclusion of the Android Security patch for the month of December and unspecified system enhancements. We do suspect that there could be more to this update, so if you notice any changes after installation, feel free to mention them in the comments section.

The update is available OTA, but it might need some time to reach all compatible devices. As always, make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding with a patch of this size.
